Justin Timberlake’s former band, NSYNC, reunited after nearly a decade, taking the stage together for the first time in nearly ten years. The reunion took place at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on March 13th, just before Timberlake’s solo concert. Timberlake personally invited his former bandmates, including Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Lanceton Bass, and JC Chasez, to join him on stage.
Formed in the 1990s, NSYNC, comprised of Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Lanceton Bass, and JC Chasez, was one of the most beloved boy bands of the era. The name NSYNC was derived from the last letter of each member’s first name. The band was formed in 1995 and disbanded in 2002 when Timberlake pursued a solo career. Despite this, they occasionally reunited for performances. This occasional collaboration has continued over the years, with highlights including receiving a joint star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018 and presenting the Best Pop Music award together at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2023. Speculation about an official reunion has been ongoing since then, but the band’s tendency to perform together only on special occasions has persisted.
During Justin Timberlake’s recent solo concert in Los Angeles, he brought his former bandmates on stage to perform three songs together. Among these was a brand new track titled “Paradise,” which will feature on Timberlake’s upcoming album “Everything I Thought It Was.” The other two songs performed were the well-known hits “Bye Bye Bye” and “It’s Gonna Be Me.”
NSYNC last released new music in 2023, twenty years after their debut, with the song “Better Place,” featured in the animated film “Trolls: Together Again.” Following its release, Joey Fatone hinted that they might release a new album in the next two years, depending on the success of the song and Timberlake’s availability. Just hours before last night’s concert, Timberlake shared a snippet of the new song “Paradise” on Instagram, while his bandmates teased in the comments about the possibility of performing the song together. This suggestion became a reality just hours later, much to the excitement of fans, indicating that the band’s reunion seems more certain than ever.
